Marvin, I challenge you on your defensive posture with J.J. How unlike you to be so abrasive! I didn't hear many feelings from you--just a lot of nasty comments to J.J.
Have you considered, Marvin, that the old self you must die to is the dishonest one that attempts to be someone he's not--namely a heterosexual? How difficult is it to crucify yourself with Christ if you take the easy road of conforming to the patterns of this world, that being the pattern of heterosexual bigotry? I find it much harder to live for Christ as a gay man because the church as a whole--as in Christ's own days here on this earth--are so hostile toward my witness.
J.J., thank you for calling Marvin's dark ways (claiming to be something he clearly is not) into the light...You are a good person, and God loves you just as you are...

I have a question for all of you...should I show Marvin your comments or just let him cool off? I normally fax him comments once every few days, but I worry that he might not be ready to hear what you have to say. What do you think?
belledame222, good to see you! Murray Hill, huh? Hmmm, the only Murray Hill I know is a NYC neighborhood. Tell who is this Murray Hill you speak of?
It seems to me like maybe Marvin reacted defensively and might later reconsider his position, or at least his attitude. Most people have shot off at the mouth and regretted it later at least once in their lives.
Perhaps Marvin just needs some time to consider why he reacted so harshly to what was really a fairly innocuous comment.
